1407 (Newton Aycliffe) Squadron held their annual presentation evening at the local RAFA club recently. The night was held to celebrate the considerable achievements of the cadets over the past year and was presided over by the units Commanding Officer, Flight Lieutenant Karin Scott.
The evening began with the enrolment of three new cadets by the Squadron Chaplain, Paul Harper and continued with the presentation of awards including Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh Awards.
The main event was the presentation of trophies and the ‘Top Cadet’ award went to a newly promoted Cadet Flight Sergeant Lauren Wise.
Presenting the awards, Squadron Leader John Scott, a Sector Commander with Durham/Northumberland Wing said ‘it’s good to be back at my old Squadron and see how it continues to thrive.’
