Flight Lieutenant Phil Kent, Commanding Officer of 131 (City of Newcastle) Squadron is preparing to walk the 1228 miles from Land’ End to John O’Groats.
The walk, starting in May will see Phil walking for 73 days in order to raise money for cancer research, a cause that’s close to his heart having lost his mum and seen many family members and friends suffer with the disease.
Phil is no stranger to long distance walks having completed the Pennine Way, but sees this as an epic challenge.
He said ‘I have been planning the journey for about a year, though my biggest worry is picking up and injury’.
